‪#‎TheGoldBadge‬ ‪#‎FearlessFriday‬
Today, I decided to google FEAR.
yea! you read correctly the first time and
I have come to the conclusion that indeed #‎FearIsStupid‬!
so they say that, fear occurs as the result of threats
that are perceived to be uncontrollable and
that response to fear serves survival... Blah blah.

Who knows a man better than His maker?
Over 365 times the bibles says FEAR NOT!
The maker and mender of men says;
"For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold
of your right hand and says to you, DO NOT FEAR;
I will help you". [Isa 41:13]

WHY FEAR??? ‪#‎BeFearless‬!

Perhaps we lost our ways when we left value behind...
why else would Confucius say, that; “The superior man understands what is right;
the inferior man understands what will sell.” *scratch head*
At ‪#‎TGB‬ we agree with Patrick Henry in saying that; “The eternal difference between
right and wrong does not fluctuate, it is immutable.”

VIVA Diva! Fearless and Fabulous!!

How it all began…
Vivian Ntigeli began her music career as a teenager with the popular female quartet called THE ANCHOR. The Anchor delivered vocal prowess and harmony to their listening audience, and this opened Vivian up to the intrigues of music at an early age.
Several years later, the defunct group left her finding expression as a leading vocalist in her local church. Her songs soon began to gain a fair degree of popularity amongst church folks and invitations began to roll in globally.
By 2008, Vivian Ntigeli had evolved into a contemporary rock brand called VIVA under TowerGate Records also known as "Club X", headed by Entertainment Consultant Mr. Lawrence Omo-Iyare.  VIVA started to blow her own trumpet. The world had never heard such a gift in a voice before!
VIVA is arguably Nigeria’s best Gospel Pop/Rock Diva. She combines a rare gift of voice, profound lyrics and Spirit-Filled contemporary expression.
She has released singles such as ‘GOD IS REAL’ and the hit 'SHINE’. She has worked and performed alongside artists like Bouqui, TB-ONE, Frank Edwards, Sinach, RooftopMCs, BUCHI, SAMSONG, Joe Praize, David Nkennor, Sam Jamz, PITA, Olufunmi and a host of others. Viva has had musical concerts and also featured severally on the popular contemporary Christian satellite television channel “LOVEWORLD PLUS”.
She is Fearless because she has gone forward to pursue her passion, and there's no stopping her!
To connect with the ever fabulous and fearless Viva, you can follow her on @vivasorocks on Instagram.

Enjoy the photos on your way as well...be inspired.

TGB: Introduce yourself:
JKG: My name is Jasper Kanayo Gabriel. I'm a Professional Makeup Artist.

TGB: What ignited the spark in you to start a business or become an entrepreneur?
JKG: 1st was the love for what I do. 2nd was the need to provide a unique approach and style to revealing beauty. There was also the need to teach and empower people.

TGB: What would say are the top three qualities needed to be a successful entrepreneur?
JKG: 1).The willingness to learn, be teachable and mentored.  2). The willingness to take calculated risks. And break the status quo in certain areas.  3). To be successful which includes teaching or raising makeup artists, making profit and making a name that will outlive you.

TGB: What have been some of your failures and what have you learned from them?
JKG: I will call them initial challenges. Everyone goes through it. Low funds, not being taken seriously, not able to secure bookings back to back... Etc... The best thing I learned was to keep believing and Never Ever Ever Stop.
TGB: What motivates you?
JKG: The need to do new things. The need to be better than yesterday. The need to creatively express my passions.

TGB: What inspires your designs?
JKG: People, Nature, Colours and Art.

TGB: Do you ever get scared? If so, what is your greatest fear and how do you manage fear?
JKG: I wouldn't call them fears. It's just the idea whether or not I will live out my full potential. But at the initial stages it was the uncertainty of having to break into the market that already had bigger names.  But with time and staying consistent with vision and delivering quality service coupled with God's grace, I've been able to overcome that and establish my business in the industry.
TGB: How do you build a successful customer base?
JKG: By having the reputation for delivering quality and prompt service. One satisfied customer brings at least one new customer.  And the chain keeps growing.

TGB: Who has been your greatest inspiration?
JKG: Teju Nwafor of Brushstrokes. My 1st Educator and Mentor.

TGB: What has been your most satisfying moment in business?
JKG: Seeing the satisfaction from a happy client.

TGB: Where do you see yourself and your business in 5years?
JKG: I see myself traveling the world over to do makeup and to educate. I see myself training and raising new makeup artists, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
TGB: What will you regard as the highpoint of your business?
JKG: I've had so many Wow moments that many may call high points but to me, I have not arrived.

TGB: Whose advice has been instrumental to your career?

#TGB #ImpactSunday

Your life is a light that shines for other lives to see the truth.

Shine your light. Impact other lives. Give your own life some meaning.

An African proverb says that one oil-stained finger eventually stains all the other fingers on that hand. Touch a life today with the beauty that God has placed in your life. You can start from somewhere, somehow...one good start is to share a smile! 😄

Remember...it starts from somewhere...ut starts with YOU! #onelove

Redefining Culture

When we hear the word culture, the first meaning that pops into our heads is “it’s how our parents do things, it is our tradition and it is who we are.” While that may be true on some level, it’s important to note that culture changes with time and events. Looking at our society, I need not say more.
The Gold Badge presents a new look at culture. What does culture mean to you as a child of God? Oh yes! We believe that a relationship with Jesus is the most beautiful way to live. We believe that being a Jesus freak is better than living without hope, without values, or without character. We believe in excellence and we believe that the word of God makes us fearless.

Our culture is the Jesus Culture, the culture of showing love to our family, friends, and the strangers we meet every day. Our culture is recognizing the strength of God in our weakness. Our culture is using our godly gifts to make our world a better place. Our culture is celebrating excellence, redefining values, and impacting lives. Our culture is telling the world that Jesus lives and is knocking at the door of our hearts. Our culture is letting our light shine through our words and our actions. Our culture is making Jesus the number one in everything we do: our personal lives, businesses, places of work and worship, at the bus-stops, train stations every chance we get. I could go on and on, but I think you get the picture. We are not talking about religion, we are talking about love and true friendship. We are talking about a way of life that reflects the words of our mouth, our actions, and the way we treat our fellow human beings. A way of life that makes us true winners and champions.

So, what do you say? Would you join us on this journey of a redefinition of who we are, whose we are, as we continue to impact lives and culture?

Be the watchman of your values, diligently and religiously guard it...
You know the kind of a man by his values.

Like someone rightly said; "There are no such things as old- fashioned values.
There are just VALUES. right has always been right and wrong has always been wrong.
People just seemed to have lost sight of what is truly important".

Be not deceived. what lies in our power to do, lies in our power to do.

#TGB #Fearless Personality: Mogolodi Nagafela

Hello everyone, it's Friday! That's the day we bring you our #Fearless Personality, and for this first one, it's none other than the amazing Mogolodi Nagafela, a top-notch Branding and Graphic Design Consultant based in Botswana. In this exclusive, he talks about his values, his business and aspirations. And boy, this young man has got some dreams! Guess what he's called on Instagram? @TheGreatestPresident...we like! Go on, read through and get inspired.

TGB: Please introduce yourself:
MN: My name is Mogolodi Nagafela from Botswana, based in the capital city of Gaborone and I'm a Brand Architect (Some call me a graphic designer). I'm the CEO and Co-founder of Brainwurxx PTY Ltd, as well as the Creative Director of SIX AM APPAREL.

TGB: What ignited the spark in you to become an entrepreneur?
MN: I have always been that person who doesn't fit in, I have always defied the status quo, especially from a young age and I knew that I was never going to work as an employee because I grew up under the tutelage of my father who was an entrepreneur. So my whole life I have always know to build empires.

TGB: What would you say are the top three qualities needed to be an entrepreneur?
MN: They would have to be a) Vision b) Focus c) Passion.

TGB: What are some of the setbacks you've experienced and what have you learnt from them?
MN: Wow! I have had my fair share of those, from late deliveries to clients because of so many constraints to never getting payments, losing clients, getting more jobs than I could handle and never knowing how to say "no". All these things shaped me for the better, they made me plan, they made me see what I had missed and pruned me to be a better business man.

TGB: What motivates you?
MN: I'm motivated by God, That's all, hahaha. Well, He uses many mediums to motivate me, from great business men who succeeded to those who failed. Music inspires me, so do movies, documentaries, blogs and books (very important), I read a lot and that's my advantage.

TGB: What inspires your designs?
MN: I'm inspired by everything. I draw inspiration from designs, buildings, people, sounds, smells, life. I draw inspiration from literally everything...

TGB: What's your greatest fear and how do you manage fear?
MN: People are scared of a lot of things, I think for me it's like I'm not doing enough, I honestly don't want to get to heaven and still have some talents or creativity left, I want to have emptied myself but I feel like time is so limited and I'm not doing enough...I manage it by not letting it get to me, God knows I'm doing everything in my power to change the world.

TGB: How did you build a successful customer base?
MN: I made sure I delivered creativity and quality at the highest level. I'm exclusive, thus more people want me, I only serve big clients and corporations.

TGB: Who has been your greatest inspiration?
MN: My inspiration is Apple and Google, I want to beat those two and as I do I want people to know that it was by God's power. I like that, thats what I live for, to take God's name to the highest point where it can't be ignored.

TGB: What are your most satisfying moments in business?
MN: Those moments when I'm seeing someone smile, happy, emotional, over the moon...just making a difference in people's lives, I love that, it's like I'm some everyday superhero.

TGB: Where do you see yourself and your business in 5 years?
MN: In 5 years I would have retired, I would be the youngest millionaire in our country. But it's actually not about money, it's about impact, I want to have made the best impact ever, I will be one of the people who make decisions that affect the whole country.

TGB: What will you regard as the high point of your business?
MN: The highest point was when I designed a mini pictorial biography of the first President and the President's son (who is now our current president), his brother and major players in the industry took the copies and my name was there for everyone to see...oh yeah and when I got to win Best Logo Design in Southern Africa and Pastor Ose Oyakhillome gave me an award...ooh lastly when Shell Petroleum Company became part of my portfolio.

TGB: Whose advice and guidance has been instrumental to your career?
MN: Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, Steve Jobs, my father and many other people in my life.

TGB: What is the greatest price you have paid for pursuing your dreams?
MN: Losing people (sigh) when you pursue your dream people start to drift away from you.

TGB: What new project are you working on?
MN: My company (Brainwurxx) gave birth to a business called SIX AM APPAREL which is a faith-based clothing line that brought you the GOD RUNS AFRICA tshirts, we are now expanding. We are also working on a project we are calling #TheFreeSchool where we are teaching unemployed young people and those who don't school and others who school and work Photography, Graphic Design and Entrepreneurship for free, helping them start their own businesses and getting income. We are also working on 2 radio station projects, one being an internet based radio station and the other an educational terrestrial radio station. After all these projects we are jumping in the community development project where we will be donating solar lights to households in the village that don't have electricity especially those with kids who school and need to study.

TGB: What piece of advice would you give to our young readers who want to become entrepreneurs?
MN: Just Do it! Make as many mistakes as possible, learn, grow and move on. but most importantly listen to God's guidance.

TGB: A final word to our readers:
MN: We each have a role to playing this world, make sure you play your part, be patriotic about your country and region, I'm telling you if you do God will flood your mind with ideas that will change the landscape of your locality. Play your part, don't be a copy cat, do your part, stay in your lane, be the best and be very great at whatever it is you have to do.
